Day 1: Da Lat – Ta Dung Lake
Distance: ~160 km
Your adventure begins in Da Lat as we ride through scenic countryside roads lined with pine forests, coffee farms, and rolling hills.
We start with a visit to a local coffee plantation, where you’ll learn how Vietnam’s famous Robusta, Arabica, and Moka coffee are grown and processed, including the unique story of civet (weasel) coffee. Next, stop at a traditional silk factory to see the complete process from silkworm cocoons to finished silk products.
Continue to the impressive Elephant Waterfall, one of the largest near Da Lat. Nearby, visit a peaceful Buddhist temple complex featuring the Giant Happy Buddha and the tallest Lady Buddha statue in Southern Vietnam. Then ride on to the spectacular multi-tiered Pongour Waterfall, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the south.
In the afternoon, we follow scenic mountain roads into Dak Nong Province, passing dense forests and highland landscapes, before arriving at Ta Dung Lake — often called the “Ha Long Bay of the Central Highlands.” Enjoy panoramic views of emerald waters dotted with dozens of small islands as we settle in for the night.
Accommodation: Ta Dung Top View Hotel
Day 2: Ta Dung Lake – Lak Lake
Distance: ~130 km
After breakfast, we leave Ta Dung Lake and ride deeper into the Central Highlands on scenic mountain roads. The route takes us through rolling hills, coffee and rubber plantations, and remote rural communities, offering a genuine look at local life away from the usual tourist trail.
Along the way, we stop at scenic viewpoints for photos and visit a rubber plantation to learn how rubber trees are tapped, how latex is collected, and the important role this industry plays in the region.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Lak Lake, one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in the Central Highlands. We visit a traditional M’nong ethnic village to discover local customs, unique longhouse architecture, and the rich culture of this indigenous community.
If the weather allows, you can also enjoy a peaceful dugout canoe ride across the calm waters of Lak Lake, surrounded by mountains and rice fields. The rest of the evening is free to relax by the lakeside.
Accommodation: Lak Lake Homestay
Day 3: Lak Lake – Buon Ma Thuot
Distance: ~150 km
Wake up to the peaceful lakeside atmosphere and begin the final day of your adventure. We ride through scenic countryside and fertile farmland toward Buon Ma Thuot, Vietnam’s coffee capital.
Along the way, experience beautiful village roads winding through vast rice fields and enjoy a traditional boat ride on the river with local people. This stretch of the journey offers wonderful scenery and authentic glimpses of everyday rural life.
Next, visit local cocoa and pepper plantations to learn about two key crops of the Central Highlands. At the cocoa farm, discover the process from bean to chocolate and sample freshly made local chocolate.
After lunch, continue to the spectacular Dray Sap Waterfall, set amid lush rainforest and volcanic landscapes. Here you can swim and immerse yourself in the cool, refreshing water while enjoying the poetic scenery of the falls.
We also visit a family-run workshop producing traditional handmade rice noodles for a glimpse into everyday rural life. Before reaching the city, stop at the Dak Lak Museum (closed on Mondays). Designed like a traditional Ede longhouse, it showcases the history and culture of the Central Highlands, including the Ede, M’nong, and Gia Rai peoples.
In the late afternoon, we arrive in Buon Ma Thuot, marking the end of an unforgettable journey through the Central Highlands.
